About Mikhail
Mikhail Usher founded Usher Law Group, P.C. and has led the firm since. He earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Brooklyn College and his law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, where he served as a senator in the Student Bar Association, competed on the school's national-champion mock trial team, and graduated with high honors. During law school he clerked for the Hon. Amy Steele Donner in Dade County, Florida.
Before law school, Mike worked as head of purchasing for an international furniture import and distribution company — experience with international logistics and paperwork that still informs how he approaches immigration cases. After admission in New York and New Jersey, he practiced immigration, criminal, employment and consumer-protection law at a Brooklyn firm, where he built out the criminal division, and later passed the Florida bar before opening Usher Law Group.
Mike leads the firm's commercial litigation and merchant cash advance defense work and oversees its immigration practice. He was named to the Super Lawyers New York Metro Rising Stars list (2015–2018) and to Super Lawyers (2019–2020), and he is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association, and the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
He is admitted in New York, New Jersey and Florida, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. He works with clients in English, Russian and Spanish.
